This code...

Protected Sub SeqTextBox_OnDataBinding(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs)

CType(sender, TextBox).Text = "999"

End Sub

Called from this addition to the TextBox control...

OnDataBinding="SeqTextBox_OnDataBinding"

In the InsertTemplate.  Will do the trick.  No AddHandler needed, no Handles clause.  Works just the same in C#
